Buy and Print Movie Tickets from Home Service a First in Metro Detroit
Phoenix Theatres Says – Don’t Stand in Line, Buy Online, Ahead of Time
Farmington Hills, Mich. – May 10, 2007 – Phoenix Theatres continues its industry-leading consumer friendly programs by being the first movie theatres in metro Detroit to offer movie-goers the means to buy tickets online – then print those tickets at home or the office, and/or email them to friends.
“People have been able to purchase tickets online for the past few years or so, but then they’d still have to make another stop at a kiosk or theatre box office to process and pick up their tickets,” said Cory Jacobson, co-owner of Farmington Hills, Michigan-based Phoenix Theatres. “What we are now introducing is an easy to use process that allows movie-goers to print tickets at their home or office to bypass everyone in line at the box-office and go directly to the Phoenix Theatres ticket-taker. There are no lines to stand in at the box office, no need to stop at a kiosk. It is exactly the same e-ticketing technology used to give you a boarding pass on an airplane.”
Visitors to either www.Phoenixmovies.net or www.Movietickets.com can purchase tickets weeks in advance, so not only is there no waiting in line, you can secure your ticket for the latest block-buster hits before the crowds start gathering at the box office. The ticket taker at Phoenix Theatres will have a scanner that reads the bar code, which denotes which show and time the purchase was for, and how many tickets were purchased. There is no need to have a printed ticket for each person in your party.
“We expect to give the new on-line system a work out in the next few weeks as the highly anticipated blockbusters “Shrek the Third” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End” will be the first e-tickets sold on line prior to the opening day of the film,” said Charlie Murray, co-owner of Phoenix.
The don’t-stand-in-line, buy-online program is available at both Phoenix Theatres locations – in Farmington Hills’ West River Centre, along Nine Mile west of Middlebelt, and the original Phoenix Theatres on Eight Mile Road in Detroit’s Bel-Air Centre.
